Mission
We are in the business of navigating change with companies, communities, and organizations for whom change buy-in is critical. Our mission is to partner with organizations as they navigate through change – increasing leadership readiness and capacity for change, and designing and implementing change strategies which gain commitment from employees – so that the organization can fulfill its mission and achieve dreamed-of results.
Current Issues
We are currently working with many nonprofits and small businesses who are at a particularly critical turning point – with baby boomer retirement, slowing economy, and shifting models for nonprofit services and investment in start ups.
First, nonprofits often haven't prepared for succession through leadership development, so now with many boomer founders retiring, there's a leadership vacuum and, in fact, strong competition in the marketplace for good senior leaders. Small businesses are experiencing similar transitions from boomer founders to family members or to young, ambitious leaders who may not have the same value system.
Second, tighter resources demand a more focused and adaptive strategy in order to survive and grow. Small businesses can get locked in to strategy related only to the original product or service. Now that's not enough. Nonprofits can get locked in to being all things to all people, confusing the values they stand for with strategy and losing their capacity for sustainable growth. Investors, funders and donors want innovation and outcomes.
